Străbun Alb 2024 is a blend of Muscat, Fetească Regală, and Chardonnay, vinified separately and assembled after multiple tasting sessions. Muscat delivers the aromatic lift, Fetească Regală brings acidity and energy, while Chardonnay ties everything together through structure and texture. Carefully calibrated maceration, bio-protection for the aromatic lots, and temperature-controlled fermentations preserve a pristine fruit-and-floral profile. The result is a straightforward, modern dry white with excellent drinkability and enough gravitas to carry a full menu.

WINEMAKING PROCESS

The grapes for Străbun Alb 2024 come exclusively from our own estate and are hand-harvested into small crates, starting in the early hours of the morning. Each variety is tracked separately: Muscat delivers the core aromatic signature, Feteasca Regală brings freshness and vibrant acidity, while Chardonnay contributes structure and complexity. The parcels are picked at different times, depending on the desired balance between sugar, acidity, and grape health.

After destemming, the aromatic components are transferred to the vinifier for extended maceration at controlled temperature, with sequential inoculation using non-Saccharomyces species, ensuring bio-protection during maceration and helping to unlock aromatic potential. This is followed by a slow pneumatic pressing in a reductive environment for all components, at moderate pressures, preserving terroir expression and avoiding harsh extraction. The musts are cold-settled by gravity, then each variety is fermented separately in stainless-steel tanks at controlled temperatures, with selected yeasts that emphasize freshness and aromatic finesse. Fermentations are carried fully dry, with close attention to alcohol–acidity balance.

At the end of fermentation, the lots are kept for several months on fine lees, with periodic bâtonnage, to build volume and texture. The final blend is crafted through tasting, so that Muscat defines the aromatic profile, Feteasca Regală brings energy and an acidic backbone, and Chardonnay ties everything together with structure and complexity. Tartrate and protein stabilization are carried out with minimal intervention, followed by gentle filtration and bottling at the winery—so Străbun Alb remains a pristine, modern, precise dry wine.
